Robert J. McGuirl graduated from the College of the Holy Cross ('74) and received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center ('77). He then served as an Assistant District Attorney in New York County (Manhattan) in successively, the Criminal Court Division, the Juvenile Offense Bureau, the Felony Trial Division and ultimately on Homicide Call.

Bob has been Certified as a Civil Trial Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey, a designation based upon knowledge and experience and earned by less than 1% of New Jersey attorneys. He serves as an Arbitrator for personal injury matters in the New Jersey Court system as well as a Court-appointed Mediator. He has over 35 years of experience prosecuting and defending litigated matters, and is recognized throughout New Jersey for his expertise in products liability litigation. His office also prosecutes and defends claims and lawsuits on behalf of physicians, group practices and ambulatory surgical centers in a wide variety of areas, including restrictive covenants, practice and contract disputes, ASC matters, hospital privilege and BME issues, and coverage disputes.

He has chaired various Committees and Sections for both the New Jersey State and Bergen County Bar Associations. Mr. McGuirl enjoys an "AV" rating, the highest rating given to attorneys by the Martindale-Hubbell Attorney Rating and Information Service. In addition to products liability and healthcare work, Mr. McGuirl litigates matters involving medical devices, the life sciences, personal injury, toxic torts and insurance in state and federal courts. His current small-firm practice has been built and focused from inception on the efficient and effective handling of claims, civil litigation and related matters.

Bob is a lecturer and author for various national, state, county and specialty bar associations, industry associations and groups, and selected segments of the population at large. His seminars have provided ongoing education and training for practicing attorneys, clients and the general public. His writings have appeared in various legal, trade and industry periodicals, journals and other publications.
