Robert J. McGuirl graduated cum laude from the College of the Holy Cross in 1974 and received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1977.  He served as an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan in the Criminal Court Division, Felony Trial Division and ultimately on Homicide Call.

Bob has been Certified as a Civil Trial Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey, a designation based upon knowledge and experience earned by less than 1% of New Jersey attorneys.  He serves as an Arbitrator for personal injury matters in the New Jersey Court system as well as a Court-appointed Mediator.  He has more than 30 years experience in prosecuting and defending litigated matters, and is recognized throughout New Jersey for his litigation expertise.  He has chaired various Committees and Sections for both the New Jersey State and Bergen County Bar Associations.  Mr. McGuirl has enjoyed for many years an "AV" rating, the highest rating given to attorneys by Martindale-Hubbell, and has been named a New Jersey Super Lawyer for as long as that peer review selection process has been in existence.  Mr. McGuirl spends a significant amount of his time handling matters involving product liability, medical devices, the life sciences, personal injury and health care matters both in and out of state and federal courts.  His current small-firm practice has been built and focused from inception on the efficient and effective handling of claims, civil litigation and related matters.

Bob is a lecturer and author for various national, state, county and specialty bar associations, industry associations and groups, and selected segments of the population at large.  His seminars have provided ongoing education and training for practicing attorneys, clients and the general public.  His writings have appeared in various legal, trade and industry periodicals, journals and other publications.
